"Drafts of Ecology: URD" is the second project shown as part of the Digital AIR. It was curated by the Danish artist, musician and curator Theodor Nymark.
The project reflects on the theme of "trend" by examining the etymological history of the word and its relationship to the ecological concept of nature's cyclical nature.
Ecology, a term coined by the famous German philosopher and naturalist Ernst Haeckel, is the study of the relationship between living organisms, including humans, and their physical environment. Eco in ecology comes from the Greek oikos, "house, dwelling or habitation".
Making a reference to the philosophical concept of the English philosopher Timothy Morton and his book “Dark ecology. For a Logic of Future Coexistence curated by Theodor Nymark intends to understand the environment not only as biological matter, but also as alloy, concrete and minerals.
Viewers experienced an interactive experience in a figurative space that connects the real and the virtual. This experience included both interaction with installations, photographs and video materials, as well as with other spectator players in the virtual and physical space of Fabrika.
The project opened simultaneously in several digital and real dimensions: on January 28 at 19.00 in the Tsekh Otdelki of Fabrika in Moscow (Russia) and in the Metaverse.
